Currently, it contains selected core text for Social sciences, Economics, Sociology. ![]() The pillar on which Kitabu-Buk Project continues to strive are based on these core values. E-Kitabu: E-kitabu is a platform which is used to deliver core text books. Mission:Ĭreating awareness through the reading Culture Vision: This means that the students do not have timely access to such books in UPE and USE schools, yet these learners compete and sit for the same National Examinations. This is way below the corresponding ratio in private schools which is approximately 1:1. Joseph’s Primary school, Kirinya, Wakiso district where we first donated books, the ratio of books to pupils was 1:20.Īlso, in Aliwang Primary School, the ratio of books to pupils was 1: 40. ![]() The UPE and USE schools are unable to provide vital facilities like enough books. This therefore affects their performance as they do not have such materials or cannot afford them. As a result, most parents in rural areas send their children without books and lunch. The organization was founded in August 2014 and has been able to donate over 30,000 text books and over 4000 scholastic materials to over 30 schools in the country.Īccording to NAPE, by the time UPE and USE was introduced, some parents believed that scholastic materials such as pencils, pens and books and meals for pupils would be provided free of charge by the government. We recycle text books, scholastic materials, and other reading literature and donate to Universal Primary and Secondary schools across the country as well as Community Schools. Kitabu-buk project promotes quality Education through a recycling model. Kitabu-buk Project is a local registered youth founded Non- governmental Organization with registration number-10990.
